New name and logo ideas!

Here are some ideas for the new name and logo. We want to know your views, so please do leave your comments on the Facebook photos or Flickr.

There will be a prize for the most constructive comment (Voucher for The Mall).

These are some of the reasons behind choosing a new name:

- to broaden the accessibility of the chaplaincy to all students and staff - where the word 'chaplaincy' may alienate some people who would not identify themselves with Christianity, it is hoped that 'The Tree House' will symbolise the welcome of ALL people connected to the University of Bedfordshire, irrespective of their beliefs and culture.

- Trees are associated with many of the wonderful aspects of the chaplaincy's work:

Nurturing life.
Spiritual growth.
Branches representing both the diversity and connectedness of people.
Stability through changing seasons.
The chance to put down roots.
Vital exchange (trees sustain our planet through exchanging carbon dioxide for oxygen).

- 'House' picks up on the security that the chaplaincy offers to students and to staff: it's a place to take rest and shelter from the pressures of life, a place to meet people and make friends, a welcoming place where support is freely offered, a House of God.

Thanks,
Stephen and the Chaplaincy Team :D
